How and when did you get into yoga?
I took my first yoga class in 2005, outside in the sun at Club La Santa Sport on Lanzarote. There was something magical about moving with the breath outside in the sun, with the wind on my face and with the ocean in the background.
As a physiotherapist I like the fact that yoga can heal the body. And the more I do yoga, the more I come to realize that yoga is so much more than exercises to help heal the body. It is a comprehensive tool for spiritual growth. Yoga teaches you to become mindful and cultivate an attitude of patience and kindness. Yoga is a spiritual journey that leads to the center of your inner being. It is not about attaining a certain pose or become someone else, your yoga practice is whatever is happening right now. It is inviting you to wake up, to see what you already have, and who you already are – perfect!
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time I am together with my husband and our two daughters as much as possible. We all like to be outdoors in nature and to go on adventure, so we often take trips where we can combine the two.
What makes you happy?
Being on some outdoor adventure with my family way off the grid. Off piste skiing – preferably in new powder. Swimming in the ocean all year round, my kids and yoga. If I get too grumpy, my oldest daughter tell me it’s time to do yoga☺
